THE COMPANY
Samsung Electronics Europe Logistics (SELS) is the Central European logistics organization of Samsung Electronics based in Delft, The Netherlands. SELS functions as a logistics and financial control tower within Samsung Europe, with a focused role in logistics & supply chain strategy, innovation and governance. SELS has approximately 200 employees located in the Netherlands and Slovakia.

THE POSITION
As Project Manager Warehouse Automation, you will join the West Operations team which governs and develops the logistics operations and distribution networks in Europe (central, local) in cooperation with our logistics service providers (4PL, 3PL). By translating voice of customer and biz requirements into best practice logistics solutions, initiating advanced logistics innovation, and securing operations excellence.

YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES       

  • Drive logistics innovation and optimization of Europe distribution networks (local, central)
  • Leading the key phases (gather, define, develop/select and implement) for advanced warehouse automation solutions
  • Across a broad range of consumer electronics product categories, storage and distribution types (finished goods/service parts, parcel/palletized/pallet less)
  • Identify opportunities to further automate processes and upgrade existing systems
  • Apply deep knowledge of the robotics automation markets to identify effective, proven concepts and scalable solutions
  • Leverage expertise in advanced solutions, incl. ASRS, AMR, AFL, ATL, auto sorting and conveyor systems, etc.)
  • Contribute to designing and shaping the "warehouse of the future"
  • Validate automation proposals from logistics service providers (3PLs) on effectiveness, efficiency and ROI (in coop with local logistics and contracting teams)

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR          
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager specialized in logistics warehouse automation and robotics. Our ideal candidate excels in managing complex supply chain projects, leveraging market expertise and implementing cutting-edge technology solutions. An expert who can support our drive for enhanced operational excellence (efficiency, productivity, accuracy, safety, sustainability) at our Europe distribution centers (insource/3PL).

Our ideal candidate would fit the following profile:

  • Master’s degree in Logistics or Engineering (Automation/or Robotics)
  • 7-10 years working experience within logistics operations (warehousing, transport)
  • Fluent in English, Dutch or Korean are a plus
  • Proven project management experience in DC & logistics automation (mandatory)
  • Advanced expertise in automation engineering and implementations
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the warehouse automation market (vendors, solutions)
  • Strong understanding of proven automation concepts and their practical applications
  • Good knowledge of WMS, WCS and SAP, including a solid understanding of how these systems link and integrate with automation

Primary location will be in Delft, able to frequent travel/work abroad (Europe, 25%)

Hybrid Full-time (2 days per week working from home)
